PSYCHIATRY
PSYCHIATRY IS A SPECIALTY THAT FOCUSES ON PREVENTION, DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT, AND REHABILITATION OF MENTAL ILLNESSES.
EVALUATION
Your first couple of appointments will be about getting to know you. This may include filling out a questionnaire, discussing family history with the psychiatrist, what symptoms you struggle with, and genetic testing. All of this information will be gathered and evaluated to help create a diagnosis and a treatment plan.
MEDICATION
MANAGEMENT
A treatment plan in psychiatry largely involves medication management. This involves taking the medication as prescribed, having follow up appointments to see how the treatment plan is working for you, and making adjustments as needed.
SUPPORTIVE
THERAPY
Every appointment will be an open and honest conversation with the provider. Along with your medication management,
supportive therapy will be offered within your session as apart of your treatment plan.
It may be that you need more in depth therapy(such as talk-therapy, CBT, etc.) involved in your treatment plan. If this is the case, we will refer and work with a qualified psychologist.
